November 2018 FavoritesSkin:Glossier Zit StickI’ve been on the search for a spot treatment for some time now, so when Glossier released their Zit Stick recently, I was psyched to try it. It contains 5% benzoyl peroxide, tea tree oil, and a salicylic acid derivative to combat acne-causing bacteria and to promote healing. The product has an antimicrobial steel rollerball dispenser, so apply the product to one tiny spot is super easy and mess free. It is a strong product, so you need to be cautious in how often you use it, but I can confidently say it works! Any time I get a pimple, I apply a generous amount to the area before going to bed- I always see some level of improvement when I wake up. If you’re also looking for a spot treatment, I highly recommend this one by Glossier. If there’s a hydrating product near me, I’m gonna use it. The Belif Hungarian Water Essence meets my needs perfectly. It’s a wonderful hydrating product for layering, making the skin feel like it’s had a glass of water, but also being lightweight. If you’re trying to up your skin hydration this winter, you can’t go wrong with this essence.Body:Alba Botanica Un-Petroleum Multi-Purpose JellyI ran out of my beloved Weleda Skin Food this month, so I was on the look out for another similar all-purpose ointment. This product fit the bill perfectly! Skin Food is definitely more dry than the Alba Botanica, which leaves a slick finish wherever it’s applied. Both are made of plant oils, which I prefer over petroleum based products because they do more to nourish the skin. I figure if my skin is dry enough to need a product like this in the first place, it needs more than just a barrier- it needs a treatment. I’ve used this Jelly on the dry skin of my face, lips, hands, feet, and eczema patches all with great success. I’d even recommend this product over Skin Food if you’re particularly sensitive, because unlike Skin Food, it is fragrance-free!Tom Ford Soleil Blanc All Over Body SprayI recently waxed poetic about this perfume in my recent Sephora haul review post. It’s delicious and you need it if you too want to convince yourself that it’s still summer. But not just any summer; the kind of summer where you’re kicked back on a tropical beach with a STRONG piña colada, getting La Mer sunscreen rubbed into your back by a sexy local (wo)man with a dark and mysterious past…Lush Ectoplasm Shower CreamI love me a Lush shower cream, and Ectoplasm is no exception. The smell is great and unique; citrus, but the citrus fruits you forget about like grapefruit and tangerine. The citrus notes give it a sharpness, but it’s also sweet. On top of that, the color is a fun neon green and it’s nicely moisturizing. For once, a Lush product is actually still in stock when I review it, so I’d pick this up while you still have the chance!Misc.Trader Joe’s Cedar Balsam Scented CandleAnother affordable, effective Trader Joe’s find that I’m absolutely in love with! This candle has a fresh Christmas tree-type scent, with a hint of sweetness. It’s pine, but I wouldn’t classify it as masculine or overpowering at all. Perfect for the winter time; best enjoyed with a hot cup of tea and your favorite Netflix series (a little Salt Fat Acid Heat anyone?). -- source link
