PRAGUE Travel diary - Day 5 This morning, we’re having a breakfast at Designum Café, a very charming little tea shop offering delicious home-made cakes! Olivier orders an apricot pie with hot chocolate and Cecile take a red berries cheesecake with a vanilla milkshake. We have a very sweet time there. * After this generous breakfast, we finally leave the city of Prague to spend a day in the countryside and visit the Karlštejn castle ( Hrad Karlštejn ). *Hrad Karlštejn castle is so beautiful! It hugs the mountain’s form with elegance. We decide to stop inside a corner of the courtyard to make a watercolor sketch. It’s perfect : we have a place to sit sheltered from the sun. * Then we go down to draw a view of the entire castle. We didn’t do it when we arrived because the sun was too strong and there was no shadow so it wasn’t very interesting to draw. But now, it’s perfect because the shadow spreads. *The day is ending and we go back to Prague. The weather is beautiful and it gives soft colors and a soft light upon the facades. There is a small Picnic event on the Střelecký island. People buy food at small stalls and sit on the grass to eat. The atmosphere is very pleasant and fits perfectly to a beautiful summer evening. * We find this sweet kremrole, a very popular pastry in the Czech Republic. We wanted to try eat since we saw the youtube video by Honest Guide about good Czech candies ( https://youtu.be/qFCAbxSM9iQ). If you intend to go to Prague, we suggest you watch his videos. It will help you to avoid the tourist frauds and find interesting places. His advices are very good and he looks quite likeable. -- source link
