thegirlfromthesouth: calaisreno: Eye of the Storm by Calais RenoDo you have a movie that you’ve watched so many times that it feels like you live there? The Day After Tomorrow is one of those for me. Perfectly cliche, scientifically inaccurate, and the characters are all predictable. But it involves lots of snow, dangerous weather, climate change, apocalyptic scenarios, and a president who admits he was wrong. (Obviously fantasy! The rest, though…)I posted Eye of the Storm three years ago, during the hottest days of summer, having written it in a day. It’s still one of my favourite coming-together stories for John and Sherlock, humorous but touching, with slightly clueless Sherlock and somewhat obsessive John surviving a climate disaster in the comfort of 221B. Not as dark as it sounds; short and sweet (2996 words). The love confession / first kiss is one of the best such moments I’ve written IMO. If it’s blazing hot where you are, I hope you will take a few minutes to cool off and read this. Thank you for reading / reblogging! ❤️❤️@7-percent @a-different-equation @pipmer @simplyclockwork @peanitbear @tildathings @shelleysprometheus @yogaduck @junkenmetel @helloliriels @blogstandbygo @keirgreeneyes @the-reading-lemon @loveismyrevolution @dangeles @bertytravelsfar @thegirlfromthesouth @macgyvershe @raina-at @sussexinchelsea Ooohhh, how have I not read this yet? Let me change that… @calaisreno that movie is also a guilty pleasure of mine (And don’t forget the main branch of the NYPL ) -- source link
