(And both Carrie and Mark have said they enjoyed trying to make Harrison laugh)I like to believe there were 5,000+ skywalker twins singalongs on the the falcon- their crowning achievement was getting chewie to join in onceSee, the problem is that Luke and Leia grew up singing entirely different songs. So before they could have singalongs, they had to teach each other the songs they knew. It started out when Luke kept humming an old counting song that he and Aunt Beru used to sing together. He wasn’t really conscious of it, it was just stuck in his head. It drove Han bananas. Leia was quick to pick up on that, and asked Luke to teach it to her. The first time they started singing it together, Han kicked them out of the cockpit. That just gave them an excuse to sit in the lounge and teach each other even MORE songs. (The upside of this, Leia inadvertently discovered, is that now all the pilots end up singing Alderaanian folk songs when they’re drunk, which is… surprisingly touching.)Chewie thinks all this singing is the best thing ever, and he’s stopped letting Han kick the twins out of the cockpit. He may not be able to form the same words as the humans, but he can carry a tune and he’s slowly learning the repertoire.Han is debating whether or not it’s a good idea to fly with his ears stopped up, but then, if he did that, he’d miss the way that Leia gets the giggles when she messes up the words, or the way that Luke can almost-not-quite stay on key whenever Leia laughs, and inevitably it winds up the song stopping until they can catch their breath. He’d miss the sound of them being genuinely, uncomplicatedly happy, and he’s willing to fake a little annoyance to help things along. -- source link
