The Proposition (2005) In this Australian-set western, a young man is dragged to a public whipping post. As the crowd watches, he’s tied to the post and his shirt is ripped open. He’s then flogged. Even before the punishment begins, the young man is very distressed and he yells loudly with each stroke. We only see the flogging from the front and from above - we never see the man’s back. However, towards the end of the 100 lashes, we see blood pooled on the ground next to him, as he’s slumped onto his knees. Afterwards, a man who disapproves of the punishment gives the cat to the man who ordered it and it leaves a bloody imprint on his cheek. -- source link
