spicenwolf:SpiceNWolf: Woven Flat Tie taught by MrLeto at Orlando Woodshed FIRE (Florida Intensive Rope Experience).A Pretty knot that looks great in repeated ladder ties, but which also works well as a single column tie. Has the advantage of lying flat under tension, instead of digging into the flesh.I think the pictures are self explanatory, but the step by step is as follows:- Hold a bit of the bight (loop) and circle the limb with the working end.- Cross over the bight, and loop again.- Second loop goes under the bight, and begin to weave over and under.- Weave the working end OVER the second loop, and under the first behind the bight.- Then circle over the off side of the first loop, and under the second loop, alternating over and under.- Back up through the bight and draw tight.Note that I left the knot loose in the example. You should weave tighter to maintain tension, and leave as little in the bight as possible. It takes practice and knowing your rope to finish the know tight. In most applications, you will want the knot tight, but the bindings loose enough to slip two fingers between the loops and the “column” to maintain circulation.More SpiceNWolf “Shibari Rope Manual” posts.Link to MrLeto Woven Hip Harness on You Tube.
