@KetherStuff @MegaXGFU @caxebjeff @xHotGirlzz @SexyGirls581 @OnlyPerfect10 @DaVinciWorld It seems today that Birmingham city council has announced that it is to sell the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) one of its crown jewels. As a frequent destination for our escorts in Birmingham it is always a big draw for businesses trying to showcase their products and services and will no doubt continue to be so. The council has been forced into this position as it has some huge debts (not unlike many councils in England) arising principally from the austerity measures of the last few years from central government. However is should be noted that over 10% of the councils budget is now paid to one contractor - Capita who run many of the IT and call centre services in Birmingham. Not only are these services atrocious but expensive. Following a reportage on BBC radio yesterday, it revealed (although not as much as it would have liked) that despite the council saying that engaging with Capita savings of £1.5Bn will be realised, the council would have had to make these savings anyway and instead of addressing local needs it is now shackled to an long term contract (along the lines of the terrible PFI contracts of the Blair / Brown era) which means for certain things it is now obliged to buy from the supplier - a bit like a tied pub where they have to buy the beer from the owner brewery. One lady made a case for placing a grit box on her street where it is a death trap in cold weather, but was told the council could not help as to provide it would cost £4,500!! So she bought a bucket of grit herself for £5 and I hope everyone in her street does the same. The sooner the council can get themselves out of these types of agreements the better and those who were responsible for negotiating the contract at Birmingham council should be forced to resign whether they are political appointments or council employees. No doubt getting out of this contract will be prohibitively expensive and as a result the NEC will not be the only valuable asset controlled by the council that will be sold, it will run and run until the coffers are bare and Birmingham heads the same way as Detroit. I imagine that the pension set up for former staff of the council will probably be the same as Motor City and strangely enough that’s pretty much what happened here when the West Midlands was the centre of the motor business here in the UK. Jaguar / Land Rover are our only real non-public sector employer that is a world class business and we should be proud of it even if it is foreign owned now.So who will buy the NEC? My guess would be a sovereign wealth fund from the Middle East, Far East or Norway most likely - perhaps there will be a new stadium built out there for one of the local football teams? The motorway access is good there so it would be a viable option. How about Jaguar Land Rover buys the NEC? They are based only down the road and it might be a good investment for the owners. So very few businesses like to set up here in the Midlands, but every business likes to visit Birmingham for the NEC and its trade shows. Best places to stay are the Hilton Metropole and the Crowne plaza - if you want to come to the centre of Birmingham, try the Malmaison, the city centre crowne plaza or the Hyatt they are all good. So if you do - come and visit one of our escorts - or better they will come to visit you! -- source link
