Placebo effects cannot be compared to ‘the power of positive thinking’, prosperity gospel, or thought control. It’s a proven scientific theory. For those criticizing witchcraft as the placebo effect, I don’t think you quite understand the Placebo Effect theory. The theory states that we are capable of duplicating results despite not being given real treatment - Scientists still don’t fully understand the Placebo effect or WHY it works but it does. Placebo Effect actually confirms that we have far more control over our own body and our life than we may think we do. If magic is just the placebo effect, then magic is working the way that metaphysics is intended to work. There’s no brainwashing going on with a placebo… there’s no agenda… there’s nothing harmful taking place. The placebo effect literally means you believed in something so hard that created the results it was supposed to despite not having a scientific reason to have caused them. This isn’t happening through trauma, community policing, or anything else. There is nothing unhealthy about the placebo effect.
