It had no notable effect on men save as carriers, but it ramped up women’s libidos even as their bodies burned through fatty tissues, building layered muscles, pheromone laden sweat glands, and otherwise making them likely to infect others and spread the infection. If that were all, it might be a teenagers fantasy. But it also made women aggressive, almost beastial in their dominance. They didn’t have husbands or boyfriends… they had mates, and those mates were protected fiercely from others, and screwed into submission at any hint of independence. Woe betide the unaccompanied adult male that wandered into a territory with a pack that had unaccompanied women. That was a nightmare. Then the virus reached Paradise Island.
