“I find all the critiques on misogyny in this fandom very shallow and juvenile. And sometimes just really fucking rude to actual women. Like the other day I was scrolling around, and saw someone who was discussing how misogynistic the vnc female characters are written. The thing is they apparently understood that jeanne acts the way she does because of her history as bourreau, but they think it’s demeaning for a women to act in such a way. So to you all, a woman showing signs that they are a victim of abuse is demeaning. Like what the actual fuck. If you’re going to criticize misogyny can you not be a misogynist about it? You not liking how a female character acts does not make it misogynistic writing. Anyway sorry for the vent, I’m not trying to single someone out, this is a problem I have seen repeatedly from several people. It’s just really ironic how the very people who believe themselves to be criticizing misogyny are the ones who are being misogynists by looking at female characters through an extremely biased lens, that they never would with male characters. I’m not going to pretend that mochijun is some feminist icon, but I have seen more misogyny from the people in this fandom, than the actual manga.“ -- source link
