onlinedating-adventures: kerryabigstick: okay wait so why is this weird? It is now unacceptable for men to invite women over to their houses? If you’re not into this guy enough to accept his invitation over, stop talking to him and stop whining that he’s talking to you. “If you don’t want to hook up with him stop talking to him.” Do you see why maybe this is not a helpful response? Believe it or not, people can be friends with people that they’re not interested in doing anything sexual or romantic with. This is true even if that friend happens to belong to a gender you are theoretically attracted to. This is true even if that friend is attractive. She could be talking to this guy because she likes talking to him about anime. She could be talking to him because he’s the only person who takes halfway decent notes in her history class and they have fun studying together. She could be talking to him because he’s close with people in her friend group and it is socially beneficial for her to maintain a friendly relationship with him even if she doesn’t really like him that much. Whatever the reason, the fact that he thinks it’s appropriate to invite her over for implied sex (complete with winky face) when she casually mentions that she’s watching Netflix (presumably when he asked her what she was up to?) is HIM acting inappropriately. The problem is not that this girl has the nerve to have a conversation with a guy she doesn’t want to fuck. I still disagree. He has every right to be interested in her. If he has hit on her before and she made it VERY CLEAR to him that she was not interested yet he had the gall to approach her again, then I would consider that inappropriate. However, for all we know this is the first time he’s made a move. There is nothing wrong with being friends with men. However, I know women who have led on men and seriously fucked with their emotions because they liked being friends with them even though the dudes clearly thought that their relationship had potential to be more than that. :/ -- source link
