blackbackedjackal: Wry mouth coyote skulls. I’ve come across several of these while cleaning skulls but these are the most severe cases in my collection. Wry mouth or wry nose is thought to be caused by malpositioning of the fetus in the mother’s uterus. Considering that coyotes will have larger litters in areas where they are constantly hunted and trapped, it’s likely the larger litter sizes can cause this deformity to happen more often. -- source link
