a question I get asked a lot is “why do you livetweet everything?”·I get why people ask - to people who follow me on Twitter, it can be annoying to constantly see livetweet threads on your TL. and sometimes I move the thread over here because I want to preserve it in a quickly accessible way for myself, and then that’s a whole new group of people inundated with my thoughts about a show, movie, book…·but this tweet right here is why I livetweet. Adam Christopher is the author of Darkness on the Edge of Town, the Jim Hopper centric Stranger Things novel that just came out. and while book sales and critical reviews obviously mean a lot to authors, it is the average reader, the fan, that really drives their purpose.·whether I’m livetweeting a book or a show or a film, I always send my completed thread to the creator. it’s how I forged my friendship with Ava DuVernay; it’s how I first began my relationship with the man I literally consider to be my second dad, Paul Feig; it’s how I have just begun to build what I hope will become a lil friendship with Adam.·I find that creators want to hear from those they create for the most, and I want to continue to support creators in any way I can. we need creators to continue doing what they do best, especially in a world like the one in which we find ourselves, where escapism into fiction is often necessary for mental and emotional breaks.·I joke that livetweeting is My Brand™️, but actually it might be. I find it funny and enriching, and if it continues to delight creators, I have no intention of ever stopping.···#sorrynotsorry #DarknessOnTheEdgeOfNight #StrangerThings #livetweetinghttps://www.instagram.com/p/B03yJUjALjL/?igshid=1dojukj63od18 -- source link
