Two of them were very young, between the ages of four and five, but the third was around 13 years old. They were poisoned, and the cold air of the Andean mountains preserved them very well. It is guessed that the older girl was chosen as a sacrifice and made into a kind of priestess figure, with the two younger children acting as her attendents.
