1radicalgrl: sarahfongcosplay: cheatmasterx: sarahfongcosplay: Im so disgusted with how blatantly sexist people have been the last 3 days. Is it so fucking difficult to conceive that perhaps I actually like what I cosplay? Yoko, Naoto, Asuka, Ryoko, and Im planning on cosplaying several men next year. Why is it that if I enjoy dressing in something scantily clad, it has to be for someone else, namely a man’s enjoyment? What the fuck is wrong with people?! And it’s not me. These people have no idea who I am to any extent (if they did, they’d know MOST cosplay I do covers a majority of my body) but they’re offensive to every woman who ever decides to dress a certain way for themselves. Apparently we’re all whores with only one motive and that motive is to be some guy’s jerk off material. YA GOT ME. THAT’S WHY I DO WHAT I DO. Never mind that it costs me thousands of dollars a year to make these things and if I really wanted to be your dirty fap bait I could be making tens of thousands (yes MAKING A PROFIT, not spending money) being a porn star. Never mind that outside of cosplay, I and many other women work normal day to day jobs and have steady boyfriends. Nope. Nevermind all that. THIS is why we do it. I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY. What a cunt. It’s not sexist at all. You apparently don’t know much about what you’re cosplaying. So allow me to clue you in. The reason the girls are half-naked is for the sex appeal to the audience. That’s just a fact. Do you really think an actual female character who is meant to be taken seriously is going to run into battle wearing her undergarments and a few accessories? There are plenty of female characters in anime and video games that I am a big fan of, none of them are the scantily clad ones. If you want to call anyone sexist call the artist sexist for drawing girls that are obviously there for fan service. Because I am certainly not sexist, I in fact have quite a few female friends, that I talk to on a regular basis. If you don’t like being called out on cosplaying for sex appeal, then stop choosing the characters that are half-naked. I’m fully aware that those aren’t the only characters you dress up as, but when you do dress up as the half-naked characters, your posing says you’re looking for attention. And you cry about the negative attention. Now quit your crying and get over it, because it’s a big mean world out there. And it’s never going to change. My body isn’t something to be ashamed of. It isn’t how I wear it, rather, I believe it’s how I carry myself. And FYI, characters like Naoto and Yoko have many redeeming traits outside of the way in which they dress, anyone who knows anything about the series whatsoever knows this. If you feel that the way a woman dresses reflects the level of seriousness in which she should be taken, then YOU’RE a cunt. And you ARE sexist. How I dress, how ANY woman dresses, especially (but not exclusively) at an event which is meant to be fun should have zero bearing on how Im respected and treated as a human being. Okay, cunt? Sexist indeed. I don’t think she’s a cunt, but………To say that Sarah isn’t looking for attention of a sexual nature is naive. Asuka (who is what, 15 IC?) panty shots, anyone? -- source link
