lockedtomb-described: cora-illus:Canaan House travel poster, commissioned by the lovely @abigail-pent !! This was Incredibly fun to do and really tested my style - thank you again for the opportunity!! Image description below the cut<3 Keep reading [Image Description: A travel-poster style rendering of the castle of Canaan House from Gideon the Ninth. The style is very reminiscent of paper cut-out art, with clear layers, relying on gradients and colour to show form. The poster shows a bleached, stone castle rising from tumultuous foamy waves. The castle - taking up the mid-ground and expanding off-screen - has two circular towers in the center, connected by two bridges at different levels, which each lead to more castle on either side: A gable-roofed main hall on the left, which about half-way down holds a landing platform, and below that large, dark windows set in the rough stone foundations. Light reflects off the water to create rippled light patterns on these stones and windows On the right, arched walls sit behind a overhanging garden, overgrown with green, all settled harshly into the foundations. Much of this stone is adorned with arched windows or supports, with several pillars crumbled or cracked. On the landing platform, skeletons work with large shuttles, pushing them towards the edge of the platform and dropping them into the ocean. The tower on the right has vines growing up its blocks, and houses some foliage spilling over its top. The sky behind the buildings are bright blue, with some clouds framing the centre of the image. The sun sits brightly just by the top right corner of the poster. The waves in the foreground are a light sea-green that fades into a deep blue in the distance. White foam tops these waves, and scatters as the waves hit the hard rocks. There is a very small, barely visible skeleton fishing from these rocks. At the very top of this poster, in a squared, sci-fi -esque font that fades from green to cyan, the title reads “CANAAN HOUSE”, and just below in cursive, “Chocka with ghosts and you may die” in purple font backed with white. In the center right of the image, a stamp reads “@Cora-illius: Commission, do not repost.” End Description] -- source link
