luciferlaughs: On March 9, 2000, 23-year-old college senior Leah Roberts unexpectedly hopped into her jeep with her pet kitten and left her North Carolina home without any notice. She did, however, leave behind a note for her roommate stating that she wasn’t suicidal. Nine days after Leah left home, her vehicle was found crashed on the side of a logging road in Washington, near a setting in one of her favourite books. The vehicle had been abandoned, but showed signs that it had been lived in. Numerous belongings of Leah were found scattered around the vehicle, including a guitar, CDs, her checkbook, and a pair of pants which contained $25 000. There was no blood, body, or any signs of a struggle. Police conducted a thorough search in the area, but Leah, nor her kitten, were anywhere to be found. Police were able to determine that it was unlikely anyone was injured in the accident. What made this all the more strange was that it was found to be highly unlikely anyone was even inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Shortly after Leah’s vehicle was recovered, police received a call from an anonymous tipster who claimed to have seen who he thought was Leah loitering at a gas station not far from Seattle, appearing disoriented and confused. Before police could get any more information out of him, he suddenly hung up and hasn’t made contact since. To this day, Leah remains missing. -- source link
