hey all, we all have family working in education ( brothers and sisters myself), a senate bill (807) helping provide state tax breaks for CA teachers is close to making its way thru California Legislature. please help by signing the petition at : investinteachers.org takes like 39 seconds. you can Google for more info, but in short- if passed, it will (1)exempt teachers who remain in the profession more than five years from paying state taxes on income earned from teaching. (2) would give new teachers tax credits for the money they spent to earn full teaching credentials. The credits would cover such costs as college tuition and certification tests.
