Speedy Express Bullet Liner——————————&md
Speedy Express Bullet Liner————————————————Cannot declare an attack unless you send 2 other cards you control to the GY. You can only use each of the following effects of “Speedy Express Bullet Liner” once per turn.● If all monsters you control are EARTH Machine monsters (min. 1): You can Special Summon this card from your hand.● During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can target 1 Machine monster in your GY, except “Speedy Express Bullet Liner”; add it to your hand.————————————————Can Be Found In: Duelist Pack: Legend Duelist 4 (DP21-JP035)Some cards will have heavy demerits that might limit their efficiency in most Duels. However, while some Decks are able to work arround such issues or even bypass them, others are able to simply ignore them by giving those cards other important functions. Any drawbacks the card has might affect its function during a Duel, yet the benefits that provide us can become so valuable that any of its issues won’t affect us at all.“Speedy Express Bullet Liner” is a Railway member with strong stats and abilities yet a severe demerit, but didn’t stop it to become an immediate addition for its archetype and other Decks. Despite its 3000 ATK, “Bullet Liner” is unable to attack unless we dispose of two other cards on our field as cost. However, the true power of “Bullet Liner” comes from its two abilities that becomes a solid choice to setup all sorts of goals. If we only have EARTH Machines on the field, “Bullet Liner” can be Special Summoned from our hand. Then, on the End Phase of a turn where “Bullet Liner” is sent to the Graveyard, in return we can retrieve to our hand a Machine from the Graveyard excluding “Bullet Liner” itself and other copies. Clearly, while its attacks are too expensive to become a recurring use, “Bullet Liner” easy summon and a retrieval effect to follow with makes it a strong contender as material of various expensive summons as we prepare our hand with recovered Machines in our next turns.Although Railway isn’t officialy treated as an archetype, they have exclusive support to obtain “Bullet Liner” as soon as possible. The Field Spell “Revolving Switchyard” let us trade a card in our hand to search for high Level Machines, overall assuring the arrival of “Bullet Liner” as soon is played to our field. “Ruffian Railcar” is a slightly slower alternative to search Railway members with, yet given that will be mainly used as material for Xyz and Link Summons it will assure “Bullet Liner” is ready to go in our next turns. When comes to the summon of “Bullet Liner” itself there’s no difficulties whatsoever as long we stay on theme of its requeriments, and with its archetype sharing the same Attribute and Type is completely assured during most of the Duel. From following the summon of monsters like “Night Express Knight” or “Heavy Freight Train Derricrane”, swarming the board with the effect of “Urgent Schedule”, to even only requiring other copies of “Bullet Liner” on our field, Railway and other Machines we can fit in the build won’t have any problems to summon this creature. Lastly, although “Bullet Liner” can’t retrieve itself or other copies with its Graveyard effect, that won’t stop it to being a prominent monster thanks to many revival options such as “Double Header Anger Knuckle” and “Runaway Railcar Flying Pegasus”.While there are some cards that can work along the attack cost to obtain certain benefits like “Urgent Schedule” and “Special Schedule”, in most cases “Bullet Liner” will work arround our Extra Deck summons with help of its two abilities. With an easily accesible Special Summon as soon an EARTH Machine is on our field, “Bullet Liner” and the rest of Railway options will immediately follow their arrival with some of their Rank 10 Xyz Summons. But if the easy access to lead monsters such as “Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe” and “Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max” isn’t enough, “Bullet Liner” and the other materials can also work on Link Summons to provide effects and additional zones for our Extra Deck summons. Its retrieval effect is no less difficult given that only needs to be sent to the Graveyard no matter if was used as material, detached from a Xyz Monster, or even sent from our hand or Deck by an effect like “Revolving Switchyard” or the opponent trying to disrupt our game. Finally, if you really wanna give “Bullet Liner” a chance to battle without dealing with its demerit, “Skill Drain” will erase the cost as both of its effect are still available to overwhelm the opponent with its own copies and/or other powerful creatures. While “Speedy Express Bullet Liner” won’t attack in most Duels unless in builds involving “Skill Drain”, its simple Special Summon makes it an incredibly valuable material for its archetype and other Decks involving Machines. Not only has a cheap summon available as soon we have atleast one EARTH Machine on our field, but once “Bullet Liner” is disposed for any goals it will compensate us by recovering another Machine from the Graveyard to keep the momentum. Combined with the other Level 10 Railway monsters and their own summons as well the strong support from the archetype, “Bullet Liner” might be reduced to a material role but is a staple choice to immediately start bringing powerful monsters from the Extra Deck.Personal Rating: A++ Special Summons itself from our hand if we only control EARTH Machines+ At the End Phase of a turn is sent to the Graveyard it will recover a Machine except itself+ Strong support to work as material from early to late game- Unable to attack unless we dispose of two cards on our field- Will solely work as material -- source link
