Aileen Chong is a Chinese-Peruvian artist living in Brooklyn, New York. Her most current work is meant to suggest “a dialogue about cultural fusion rooted in personal experiences” . Because of her formative years spent in Long Island but Peruvian upbringing and Chinese ancestry and feeling as if she cannot fully identify one culture or the other, she experiences a sense of dysphoria. It is through her work that she attempts to bridge the points in her multifaceted identity, visually representing the melding of her cultural identities through abstraction. -- source link
