So much of the time, bondage scenes, and any D/s photography in general, is dictated by darkness. Black pervades, seeping over every surface and winding its way around the wrists and ankles of whatever subject is on displace. It wraps itself around their body in the form of corsets and stockings, the band of a collar around the neck. It’s why so many of these pictures are in black and white; they don’t need colour because it’s monotone. It’s also because we do these things in the dark, because, really, there’s still an element of shame in all this. We may have tried to reclaim words like ‘deviant’ and 'pervert’, but it’s only when we don’t need to that they’ll truly be redundant. So I suggest we start to reclaim everything else. The purity of white. The sanctity of bridal lingerie. The delicacy of a daisy in the hair. We might share a monopoly on black with the Goths and the Emos, but really, I’d rather not associate with them all that much. Might as well start branching out. -- source link
