*blows the dust off this blog* Hello friends. It’s been a while. No good excuses, I just got burned out by mediocre stuff the last couple of seasons and couldn’t keep up. Even what I was watching was very limited. But I’m refreshed and ready to watch way too much garbage so you don’t have to!ID: INVADEDStreaming dubbed and subbed on Funimation. Our protag wakes up and is immediately chopped into tiny digital pieces. At that point, we are given the title card - Jigsawed. Alright, cool. From there he starts to put himself mostly back together and explore a broken up world and manipulate his world, finding a murder victim. We’re constantly being cut away to a bunch of people talking in a room to glean enough to know that MC is a detective and he’s in this strange chopped up world to solve some murders. But everything is so DRY AND BORING. I watched this dubbed, I make no secret - I love dubs - but this dub is very dry. MC is Josh Grelle, who I know has emotional range, but outside of the initial screaming there’s just nothing. And everyone else is worse. I’m not sure how the sub fares, but it just adds to the overall feeling of nothingness this show captures. And to rub insult to injury, episode one ends on a cliffhanger!!Now, it is my understanding that episode 2 aired at the same time, but there was so little substance here, I can’t help but think they couldn’t have done more with the first episode to motivate me into actually wanting to watch the second.Oh it’s also pretty ugly but that’s not a deal breaker all the time. Though, the amount of off model shots of one character in the first episode is concerning. Everyone looks like they are falling asleep too. Perhaps they realize how dull their lives are despite being in what should be an interesting setting. I think???Will I watch Episode 2? It’s riding entirely on how many other shows are worth watching episode 2. -- source link
