When I wrote A LINE IN THE DARK I drove around scouting locations for scenes in the book. One of those scenes takes place in Marblehead, Massachusetts, near a beach very much like this one. . From the book: “During the day the view must be spectacular, but at night, the only thing to see is the heaving black of the Atlantic beneath the matte black of the cloudy sky.
