mithrel:capitalism-and-analytics:(PERSONAL) - Today, I closed on my home. I’m officially a homeowner at the age of 27.It’s funny because I remember when I was growing up there was a point where I shared a room with my two sisters and I would use this big cardboard box we got from Publix (like one they had in the back for receiving shipments) with a sheet over it as a desk to do my homework. Some of my friends would always tease me (childish jokes) about how I was like Harry Potter (his small room under the stairs and I wore glasses). I even remember going to high school right after the 2008 crash (2009-2013) and we would all whine about how depressing our futures would be (mimic’ing a lot of what our parents would say), especially the fact that we would probably never be able to get homes ourselves.Yet here I am now, owning almost a 10,000 sq ft house just for myself to live in…times be a changing :D Man that’s awesome. I didn’t do nearly as well at that age, but after many years of looking for a job in education with no success, getting my paralegal certificate right before covid hit so no one was hiring and when I did get interviewed there was no follow-up, I finally have a full time job I love. Congratulations on your new job and extra congratulations on it being a job that you love :D -- source link
