empty-movement:The softly colored siblings set against almost totally desaturated crowds. These scenes are separated by like…half of the television show, and yet no other flashbacks get this aesthetic treatment. There are similarities here, though. A boy on an unrealistic pedestal, a sister that makes the mistake of treating him like he’s a human being. Someone hurt, someone saved. The visual and thematic parallels here raise some questions: if what Anthy has done, she’s done out of genuine concern and kindness….where Touga is the standin for her role, do we assume he’s genuinely caring for his sister there? Or if we assume he’s already got ulterior motives, do we extend that to Anthy, whose venomous lashing out at the crowd would certainly speak to more than just altruism? As always, more questions than answers, but it would be hard to argue this move wasn’t deliberate. -- source link
