deepikaaa:So I know that this is kind of late, but I saw Young the Giant (for the idk how manyth time) on February 12th in Phoenix.Having grown up in their hometown, I have been following these boys since 2006/2007. I cannot tell you how many of my friends told me that they were a “stupid garage band that isn’t going anywhere”. Funny, because the same friends are now completely obsessed. Some of their older songs, such as “Cough Syrup” and “Take Me Home” have gotten me through the most difficult times of my life. Over the course of the last eight or so years, I have been able to meet all of the band except for Sameer. A little over a year ago, I was at a Traveler’s show and had the opportunity to talk to Fran about their music and how much it means to me and he told me that I had to ask Sameer if they would ever play “Take Me Home” again. When the boys came out after the show, Fran came over to me and I reminded him of that conversation. Surprisingly, he told me that he remembered that and that tonight would be my chance to finally talk to Sameer. Long and behold, a little while later, I was able to talk to Sameer and thank him for everything. He was even nice enough to let me kiss him on the cheek (which actually happened three times due to camera errors). And shout out to all of them (well, not Jacob because he decided to go shower instead of meeting fans) for making the “Deepika face” and sticking their tongues out in pictures with me (Payam actually told me that tongue faces are his signature faces too). P.S. I got one of the setlists (which is a little torn thanks to the dumb bitch next to me). I brought some of the coasters that Fueled By Ramen sent me and had the boys sign two of them (one for me and one for Nish’s Valentine’s present) and every time I handed them to the boys to sign they would go “WHOA WHERE DID YOU GET THIS?!” and then proceed to sign them as well as my poster. I HAVE BEEN WAITING EIGHT YEARS FOR A POSTER AND NOW I HAVE A SIGNED ONE AND IT WAS ONLY TEN BUCKS AND I HAVE A MATCHING SHIRT AND OMG MY LIFE IS SO COMPLETE RIGHT NOW. P.S.S. I have officially checked something off of my bucketlist. -- source link
