But I think it is obvious such books are gonna for target audience have kids who are themselves at school, that’s who they’re gonna be most relatable to. Who are those “kids these days are humorless sjws who won’t laugh at my clever references to a book written by a racist transphobe” and “kids these days with their stupid made up genders, armrite?” jokes supposed to appeal to? Writer’s boomer friends? What’s worse, this is right now the ONLY DC book with LGBTQ representation, not counting these tiny bits of Alan Scott and Harley Quinn in anthologies. There are probably several LGBTQ kids who picked this trash and hoped to find relatable characters and instead saw stand in for them being butt of a joke that only gross men in their 40′s will laugh at.the author claims to be lsitening to complaints. Some are willing to give him benefit of the doubt due to the fact that again, this is the only book with LGBTQ characters DC is putting out right now. Others point out that most of the time “i’m listening” from creators who face controversy is followed by a unspokenAnyway, between this shit and the fact the book is supposed to have a subplot about how Billy Batson becomes deranged serial killer we saw in Future State: Shazam, I think I picked a good moment to drop DC’s new releases.-Admin -- source link
