Would that be all right? This is the Batman we need to see more often. The one who remembers what it was like to be a scared child, one who knows how to handle situations delicately. One of the reason why I love batman so much. He is portrayed as a very careful and guarded man. But he is probably the most human out of anyone. It’s why he is the knight that gotham deserves. Re: that last panel - Batman, when he’s written correctly, is an extremely compassionate person. I always feel the need to reblog this because it’s definitely something I feel was lost in the Nolan films. The thing about Bruce is he believes he is not a good man, but he is.“I’m stepping a little closer now, okay?”That sentence means so muchI always see this post without the follow up, which is my favorite partTo quote Red from OSP - “Can you imagine your Batman comforting a scared child? If yes, congratulations, that’s a genuine Batman! If no, you haven’t written Batman, you’ve just written Punisher in a funny hat.”batman who doesnt care for those who suffer isnt batman, thats just costume punch guy and we have enough of thosebatman has been written by some people who truly understand how to play your heart like a flute, and he has also been written by people who only know batman as a vauge dark smudgeone of the animated DC movies, the one where it’s supposed to be like Silver Age versions of the various Justice Leaguers, had a really good moment where Batman has been rocking the old school “Demon Bat” look with the darker color scheme and the big pointy ears and everythingso anyway he goes to save a kidnapped kid from a cult, and sure enough he goes in there just beating human ass left and right and breaking dudes’ arms and shit, the whole nine yards, but when Batman goes to untie the kid, he starts understandably freaking out ‘cuz Batman is scary as all hellsome time later, Batman’s picked up a plucky kid sidekick and rounded the rougher edges off of his costume, outright stating that he dresses that way to scare criminals, not kidsoh hey! I found a video that does a good job of illustrating! (sorry in advance for the wonky quality) -- source link
