The Henry Mini Bolt Youth .22 Rifle,Henry Repeating Arms is a company known for making affordably priced Henry lever action reproductions. However, they also make this small single shot .22 bolt action youth rifle called the Henry Mini Bolt. Designed to teach children how to shoot, it is single shot only, no magazine. What peashooter really like about this gun is that it has a neat little spoonhandle bolt. I like spoonhandle bolts. However, there are a lot of things about this gun that peashooter doesn’t like. When compared the the Keystone Arms .22 Crickett, another single shot .22 youth rifle, the Mini Bolt doesn’t seem that great. First, the Crickett has a safety which clicks back on after each shot. This forces the shooter to disengage the safety each time before shooting. This is a feature I highly applaud and recommend when it comes to the safety of a young learning rifleman. Secondly the Mini-Bolt only comes with a synthetic fiberglass stock and I think they only come in black, red, or pink. Keystone Arms offers the Crickett in various colors or finishes, in hardwood, laminate, and synthetic. Most importantly of all, the suggested retail price of a mini bolt is around $250, while the Crickett retails for around $100-$150. So you are paying $100+ for essentially the same thing. I can’t imagine the Henry Mini-Bolt having a performance that is worth the extra cost. -- source link
