tulpa777:nutsacktorturer: debkorvelus: I feel sorry for the old man, but it was stealing. There is no apparently about it. Water is not free, it’s not a right to have it, and people pay must pay for it. If a government gives a thing to you like utilities, its still not free because they take it from somewhere else, like in taxes. my friend visiting my house: hey i’m thirsty can i get a glass of water me: Not to mention the family who was giving the old man water was probably paying for the additional usage. At least where I live we pay per gallon of water the house uses, and if you use over a certain amount the rate per gallon goes up, so if we were to supply someone else with water we would be charged for it. So in this case the utility is literally being vindictive and cruel. They were getting paid either way. Punishing the kindness of the family is plain wrong. And yes, water is basic right, and should be free. And if you have the ability to collect and clean it yourself, it is. However, water, especially clean water, is not always in the place or condition we need it in. We have to move it from the a source and bring it into a home. Then we have to clean it before it goes back to the environment to prevent people from getting sick. All that takes workers and infrastructure. Which costs money. It is my belief that water companies shoud be not for profits, but to have clean water conveniently brought into our home from a distant source and safely taken away as waste we need to financially support these services. Now we can get creative in how we do that, but the fact remains that somehow we have to finance the service. Either way cutting someone off from their only source of clean water is wrong. -- source link
