A very important character in the ongoing saga with @psi-scribe. Warsmith Cygeous is a halfbreed and sorcerer. He was created by apothecary Gizilmund after much trial and error over many centuries. In an effort to stabilize the Thousand Sons geneseed and minimize warp mutations, he tried combining it with his own legion’s geneseed. With the last of his TSon geneseed reserves, failure seemed eminent until his final experiment became the first to survive the full transformation into an astartes. Gizilmund is wary of his masterpiece getting destroyed by Iron Warriors who detest halfbreeds and psykers, and thus, he is more protective of Cygeous than what you’d expect from an IW. Cygeous proved everyone wrong by managing to usurp another warsmith and forcing the grand company to it’s knees through his strength and cunning. It’s only a minor grand company larger in the scheme of things, but the young warsmith is eager to prove himself in the Eye of Terror. Currently, Cygeous is one of the warsmiths allied with Tacitus’ warband.He’s reserved and a bit sheltered because of Gizilmund’s paranoia, and is also adverse to touch. That naivete made him ill prepared to handle the larger legion’s bitterness and hatred towards everything, especially aimed at him. But he can be as stubborn and determined as the rest of them, so Cygeous managed to adapt quickly. An unexpected brightside to his sheltered start is that hatred and bitterness isn’t as instilled into his personality compared to his battle brothers. It doesn’t get to shine often, but he is capable of genuine care and kindness if he likes you.  -- source link
