grivitt901: lesbiansandboromir:Did anyone ask for some fuckin urrrrr chicken dragons? In myths and haraldry they already exist. The Cockatrice is a monster half dragon, half chicken! Common misconception! Whilst chicken dragons might have some similarities to the basiliscus clade, calling these cockatrices or basalisks would be mislabeling the species and applying a life history that these chicken dragons do not possess. There is no parasitic laying of a cockeral egg under a toad in a chicken dragon’s life cycle. They exhibit sexual dimorphism and ‘drens’ brood clutches of sexually produced eggs at irregular periods, usually the offspring of their flock’s resident 'drockeral’. Though perhaps visually similar at a glance, the basiliscus clade is not considered a self-perpetuating viable taxa and therefore is no relation to the chicken dragon subspecies. -- source link
