zieeeeegler: pige0ns: the way this is literally all jimmy wanted. him and kim working in the same office, both succeeding at their jobs, smiling at each other across the lobby. and he has it for this one single moment just before ernie calls and it’s ruined forever. This always makes my heart hurt. Like, this is why Jimmy went after Chuck. He literally ruined everything Jimmy had, and used Jimmy’s weakness of still loving Chuck to do it. And all Jimmy had started with wanting Chuck to accept him, and be proud of him. Whatever career Chuck had gone into, Jimmy would have done it too just to get Chuck’s love. But then, somewhere along the way, Kim entered Jimmy’s orbit and that became the most important thing. To use Jimmy’s most human and in my eyes greatest trait, his ability to love unconditionally, to make him admit everything and trick him. Fuck that. And that vengeful anger is what Slippin’ Jimmy is. I don’t know that Chuck was truly aware of the monster he unleashed. He knew he’d get burned, but not that badly.Don’t get me wrong, Chuck was right about a lot of things, but he was right because he forced his hand. Jimmy was working happily with the elderly clients, he had Kim and the office and a good business. Yeah he and Kim probably ran some silly schemes on the side, but Slippin’ Jimmy was well contained. Kim was more precious than that and he thought he could keep Slippin’ Jimmy under lock and key if it meant he got to keep her — until she went all in with him. -- source link
