circa 2005. We all start somewhere, and I’d say this piece marked the start of my love of men’s fashion. A shot from my first attempt at a men’s editorial, and projections…back when I even used a classic slide projector and found digital cameras to be repulsive. The cityscape is also one of my earliest images, likely circa 2000, of downtown LA. It was all one big experiment- I remember photographing prints onto slide film, thus the slight glare on the left of the background image. It was sloppy, but successful, and the start of an aesthetic I think my work still draws from. Just a little throwback to humble beginnings, you never know where your experiments take you. -- source link
