Examining the rune Raido / Raidho: Representative of safe passage, travel, and journeying. Raidho means spiritual, as well as physical, journeys. Often signified by a rider on horseback, it shows a progression towards a particular destination - the rider is us. The horse is the vehicle we use to arrive at where we need to go. When the rider and the horse are working together, you get a cohesive momentum that will create a vehicle by which you can arrive at an intended destination rather than ending up in various positions purely by circumstance. That can be achieved by clearly defining your intention and goals, actively working to build the mind, body and soul, and reflective meditation. For some people, a deeper study into our beliefs (exploring runes, galdr, seidhr, or even becoming a student of the lore if you find inspiration in these things) can lead them to a deeper sense of connection and peace with their ancestors and faith - two things that certainly lend themselves to understanding our inner self. Those also open your mind which takes you on new, and constant, journeys. In addition, we can achieve physical results by actively and mindfully choosing those things that we pour the largest amount of energy into (and which things are sucking more energy than they give). Raidho is a rune of action which can leads us to examine these aspects of our lives. **** Reflection and daily exercise **** We work hard, we take on challenges (and some are put upon us), we hurdle obstacles at work, school, with friends, colleagues, etc. and we take care of our home lives. Time is a valuable asset that there never seems to be enough of - so we often end up letting go of studying and exploring our hobbies, the passions that bring us joy, and the extra time devoted to us that affords us a physical outlet to express ourselves. But those things can often be things that help us to find joy in life (or lead to further self-reliance and development). Getting to that joy, or finding it again, requires work to establish a balance that includes self-care and developing a strong vehicle with which to move ourselves again. And that is where Raidho’s energy lies. How can we incorporate back into our lives the things that we have let go that helped develop our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and still maintain our responsibilities? source: Women of Asatru /|\ ☽✪☾ The Dance at Alder Cove - Youth/Father/Geezer - I see you // -- source link
