William: I’m very comfortable, thank you. The young recruits are driving me crazy, but at least I can see that I’m doing a necessary job. A battalion of enemies is easier to deal with than one of our own recruits! At least I can’t complain about the lodgings since I moved in over Mrs Harris’s shop. We get along first-rate and she bakes a delicious apple-pie. She has three children, but they’re all safely out of the house and married. In fact – do you have plans for this autumn? Andrew: I’ll be here, if that’s what you mean… William: That’s great, because Dan is going to be home then, and … Strange as it may sound, I want to invite you to my wedding. With her being widowed, and living off my income anyway, we thought why not make it official… Andrew: Oh! Congratulations! Have you written to Agnes? I don’t think she can make the journey, but she’ll be thrilled. William: If you think so… You all must come in any case, and don’t forget to bring your grandson! -- source link
