I came across this book the other day while doing my rounds of Barnes and Nobles (I tried the e-Reader thing, but found I still prefer the feel and experience of reading good ol’ paper books over digital). My initial thought was… why does this book exist? Do gays and lesbians sparkle during their weddings, and thus need to be lit differently? I don’t really understand the need for this. Besides possibly some small posing changes (since for some reason “traditional” marriages have a tendency of posing the bride as soft and delicate and the groom as strong and protective) I don’t really understand why this can’t be just part of any wedding photography book. Not to disparage on the authors, kudos to them for finding a way to stand out in this market oversaturated with how to photography books and making some cash. I just find it sad that there is such a market since people do see the “Traditional” and “Gay” marriage as 2 separate things, rather than one and the same. -- source link
