Reblogging for those menstruating folk out there. Haven’t personally used one, but seems great. I don’t even rinse in the shower! You can find an old jar, put it in and fill with cold water - the blood will come out and settle to the bottom in an hour or two (or a day whatever you like) then pour out, rinse the pad. I do add a little soap then, leave it for 10min, rinse and let dry. Then save it for washing at the end of my cycle. those disposable ones are plastic and gross. This is fabric! i can use about 3-4 per cycle if the quick soap felt like it cleaned it. I want >:( I want these pads Looooove these. Wearing one right now. Super soft and comfortable for those people experiencing problems with pad shifting, they now have liner pro which is perfect to use when you workout its small so its not visible when youre working out or wearing tight clothes and it also has two buttons so it wont move while youre wearing it. i highly recommend it go get urself one !!! I definitely need to find these and get some. rb for my menstruating mutuals Trans dude here, these are actually REALLY USEFUL for when you’re menstruating while trans. One of my problems is how LOUD disposable pads are, and another is, men’s restrooms don’t have stall trash bins like the women’s does…. this makes it so I don’t have anything to throw out (because it lasts my whole shift without leakage: 8 hours) and it’s QUIET for when I gotta switch um out or put one in because I started on shift. I got the pack that comes with 2 of each size, and they’re honestly a life saver, and way softer and more comfortable than disposable pads. No rash, no horrible leakage, and surprisingly they don’t shift around too much! I work a very physical job and these things Stay In Place. At night they do slide around a bit because I’m a wiggly sleeper, but luckily I got the backup bed towel for any accidents, lolBut yes, this is 100% worth it to buy. Please do. i… thought this was legit impossible till i read the comments i bought a pack of these! they’re AMAZING. SUPER absorbent and you don’t feel like you’re wearing a diaper. they barely shift around in your underwear but you still have the ability to adjust it if need be, whereas with a typical pad you stick it down and that’s it. they also don’t smell as much as a typical pad!! overall, highly recommend. if you menstruate, try these out!! I’m… going yo have to try this… I have used washable pads for 5 years, 10/10 would recommend getting them. Never had any leaks, just wash them all at the end of my cycle and keep them all in a pencil case in my room until next time. They genuinely help you save money and the environment I literally havent bought period products in over a year because I got a bunch of cariona pads. There’s no downside. Get yourself the sample pack and try it - I know the up front cost is intimidating because you’re worried you won’t like it but I promise you, you will. I have like 8 full-size pads and 8 panty liners and I LOVE THEM. My “cycle” is super unpredictable due to my arm-implant birth control, so the panty liners have literally saved my life on multiple occasions! I thought they’d make me feel too hot (I live in a desert) but you can’t feel them at all. They fit well and stay in place. Stop buying plastic. Buy these, once, and donate your unopened boxes of period supplies to a shelter. If all your boxes are open, take em to your work bathroom for people or make them available to guests. And then never buy those awful smelly plastic disposable things again. I’ve been using reusable pads for 3 months after trying alternatives to disposable pads BEST DECISION EVERI don’t get rashes anymore! Nor do I feel uncomfortable and there’s less leaking than with regular pads! Also, I rinse in the shower with soap. They don’t end up stained, they smell good after washing with soap. And I only use one a day as they absorb so much! Honestly, you should try this if menstrual cups aren’t for you! Can also confirm the rashes/irritation goes, and when I was on holiday and had to use disposable ones I suddenly started getting cramps again?…going to have to try the “blood settles at the bottom of the jar” thing, I just run mine under cold water in the sink until the water runs clear when I squish them then throw them in with the rest of the laundry. -- source link
