Asylum - Morgana Banks Photographer: MExclusive This image is from a shoot we did in an abandoned insane asylum on an island. I had read about it and managed to get my way on the island to hunt for it. In the middle of the woods that had grown around it, there it stood like a petulant forsaken child. I have been in many abandoned buildings and this one won the prize for creeping me out to the point I had to get the f*ck out of there. This shoot was the return visit. It was good having company! This image was in fact taken in the spookiest room in the joint located in the basement - clearly an infirmary replete with metal bed frames you see in horror films, bed pans, archaic medical instruments and vessels with unholy-hell fluids in them. Somehow I managed to get the space to look more rich than demonic. The goal was to get a timeless painterly image and I think thats what we got.
