magicalandsomeweirdhometours: Look at this beautiful bamboo gate that’s the entrance to a treehouse in Volcano, HawaiiHow magical and Zen is this? It’s called The Moon Gate, and you walk thru it to follow the path to the house. The path leads to these stairs to the treehouse. It’s a 2 story treehouse and was built of recycled lumber from a church on the island of Oahu. On the the1st fl., a hot tub is recessed in the deck.It only has a kitchenette, b/c it’s basically a vac. home. The fireplace is gas, probably propane, b/c the house is off the grid and powered by a generator. There is a large overhead door that opens to the deck. The bamboo fence is by the entrance to the living room. The composting toilet is huge- it’s as high as the sink.Climb the ladder to the bedroom on the 2nd level. The stained glass window was done by a local artist.Another deck is on the upper level. The new owners had to pay cash for the property which was sold somewhere between $233,000 - $256,000 b/c there was no building permit to build it! There’s no provision made for a treehouse. The buyer will have to keep checking w/the county if he wants a permitted property, in case they allow treehouses someday. Weird situation.Anyway, look at the property- it’s definitely a tropical paradise.https://www.redfin.com/HI/Volcano/11-3883-4th-St-96785/home/88392654 -- source link
