• It’s a small knob I turn every time it all becomes too much, you see. I don’t keep my face like this— placid, unmoving, disinterested— because I’ve never known heartbreak. My face is this way because it all became too much. I turned the tiny knob, and they were gone. I felt nothing. I think of you and all that comes to mind is question marks. A mind that was full of ‘did she love me?’ and ‘will she ever come back?’ is now full of ‘it doesn’t matter’ and ‘happiness is overrated’. I tried to get over you by replacing you— a pretty little thing down the street looked at me like i’m every phase of the moon at once. But I felt nothing. I feel nothing. It hurts more than hurting hurts.
