cxrsxna:justnoodlefishthings:justnoodlefishthings:I wanted you to see my precious baby Mariko, the female betta because.. Yeah. And there’s Noodle thrown in too!Goodness, what a gorgeous girl! Those are some lovely blues! :OThat noodles is fantastic as well, what an odd but beautiful pattern! However, Kuhlis are social fish. This little pasta will be much more active and less stressed with some friends to noodle around with. Kuhlis need to be in schools of 6+, the more the merrier. What size tank is this? Perhaps you can add more noodles to this party. And while that gravel is round and technically safe, consider replacing it with some sand. It’s easier on the loach’s soft skin and delicate whiskers, as well as it allows for natural feeding behavior (sifting through sand). Gosh that betta girl is just stunning -3-myfavoritecoloriscrew said: I’VE ACTUALLY BEEN REALLY THINKING ABOUT SAND! I JUST HAVEN’T HAD TIME TO REPLACE THE GRAVEL RECENTLY.I RESCUED NOODLE FROM SOMEONE WHO COULDN’T KEEP HIM, AND I’M HOPEFULLY GETTING A TEN GALLON SOON TO HOME MORE FISH AND PLANTS!( KUHLIS AND LILIES )Sounds like a plan! However, the minimum tank size for a school of kuhlis is 20g. A 10g would not do them justice and the poor little noodles wouldn’t have any space to do their thing in. I would recommend aiming for a 30-40g actually, so here’s more space for them, as they are active fish. Plus, that leaves more room for this lovely betta and possibly some other fish too! Like a school of Mosquito Rasboras or Celestial Pearl Danios, for example. Don’t be scared by the bigger tank size. Larger volumes of water are actually easier to keep as the water chemistry is more stable.I wouldn’t have known that! Thank you for your input. I think I actually have a 30 somewhere, I’ll see if I can dig it out and start adding plants ASAP! Mari is a huge fan of a very plant-y type of scape and I’m sure the noodles will love having more things to hide behind! No problem :3 glad I could help! -- source link
