My mother is a very tired woman.She asked me to design a pin for her unit to “commemorate” this steaming shitsack of a year. Their gift exchange this year is less “Yay! Holidays are for giving gifts!” and more “Holy shit more of us survived than we initially expected let’s celebrate”She wanted it to look like a generic official-ish award. Employee of the month vibe. It had to use her unit’s callsign, the year, the nickname her crew uses for Covid, and an… appropriate sentiment. A kind of fucked up sense of humor is basically required for working with the dead, but this year has managed to be too bleak for even her to joke about.
