Ahmose-Nefertari is the founding mother of the 18th dynasty, and oh yes, also a literal goddess.BASIC BIO: (1562 - 1495 BC) Ahmose-Nefertari was the wife of Ahmose I, the first pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. She was given the positions of “Second Prophet of Amun” and “Divine adoratrix,” which would have placed her in control of immense wealth, properties, and power. She was so revered by the Egyptians that after her death, Ahmose-Nefertari was transformed into a goddess and named “Mistress of the Sky” and “Lady of the West.” Her popularity obviously withstood the test of time; depictions of her have been found from 200 years after her passing.WANT MORE?
