Los Angeles in flamesToday marks the 24th anniversary of the verdict in the Rodney King trial and the ensuing riots. For a lot of people born after the 1990s, the movie “Straight Outta Compton” may well be their first real exposure to the beating of Rodney King, or the L.A. riots. But how much has actually changed? Here’s a conversation among three black journalists – reporters @dex and @trevellanderson and photojournalist Kirk McKoy – about their perspectives. It’s a revealing insight into the views of different generations, how they both diverge and intersect. Do you remember: Where were you? – @mmaltaisla -- source link
