Pinky update: She is now home with me recovering, and thats the most I can ask for right now. The last 48 hours have been relatively rough. Her surgery went over well and the tissue that was removed is on its way to be biopsied. I’m hoping they removed all the cancer. Her bloodwork also showed that she may have diabetes, but I won’t know until 2 weeks when I do her bloodwork again to confirm. That will also be when I meet with her oncologist to discuss chemotherapy options. In terms of complications this time around, she refused to eat and had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. The last time she ate was 11pm Wednesday night, prior to the morning of her surgery. She didn’t eat all of Thursday post op, or Friday. I had to push and insist on using syringe/force feeding. I couldn’t risk her getting hepatic lipidosis. Streaky passed from that 5 years ago this coming December and I don’t want to lose another baby to it.The main problem was with the evening vet techs. They weren’t feeding her enough (5ml every 4 hours), and wouldn’t force feed her the syringe if she refused it. Add to that her allergic reaction to the antibiotic and she was not doing well. They ended up keeping her til today. Once they took her off the antibiotics, her appetite slowly began to return, and they finally gave me the ok to take her as long as I supplement her self feedings with syringe feeding. I do this daily for my cat, Baby, so its nothing new to me.Pinky was super happy to see me and wanted forever pets and cuddles when we got back home. I’m just glad she’s feeling a tad better. She started walking around her quarantine room (the bathroom) and ate quite a bit earlier. I remove the cone while in the room with her so she can groom around her neck area and so she can eat. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my babies. I’m just glad that she’s back home and in my care. Hug your babies tight and please send positive vibes/prayers to my Pinky ❤She’s 100% high off her pain meds in this pic. My poor baby! I’ll have more updates in stories over the next couple of weeks. #fuckcancer #cancer #ivydoomkittyscat #pinkyandthebrain #whitecats #rescuecats #catswithcancer #caturday https://www.instagram.com/p/CGePBmvn9pY/?igshid=1nvwaxf8wfcp3 -- source link
