I wanted to do something good, for sure, but I also wanted to know that I was someone who would do something good. The great news is that even selfish altruism is altruism. In my case, kiddo gets a new liver, I know what I’m capable of, and I don’t have any reason not to live up to myself going forward. Future me, I’ve got my eye on you! -- source link
