The only Taurus I like, The Taurus 380,I will admit that when I hear the name “Taurus”, a sour icky feeling develops in the pit of my stomach and my bowels begin to gurgle. When I hear or see a Taurus pistol I usually end up rushing to the bathroom to expel my bodily contents from every orifice. However, when I see the Taurus 380, I actually get a little warm and fuzzy feeling instead. The T380 is a very small and compact snubby revolver that I will actually admit, has been done right. With a 1.75 inch barrel, a total length of around 6 inches, and weighing in at 13.8 oz’s, it should be easy to carry and conceal. It is roughly the size of a Ruger LCR, only a tad heavier. It is double action only and is hammerless. Overall it is a pretty neat little snubby.Perhaps its neatest feature is it caliber, chambered for .380 auto. I will admit that sometimes tiny little revolvers with heavy calibers, such as .357magnum, can be a bit difficult to shoot. Some may even have problems with .38 special. However .380ACP is a very light load worthy of its small size, great for someone who may not be able to handle larger calibers. Because of its lighter caliber, they are generally much more accurate than most snub nose revolvers. This design, however, comes at a cost. First, almost all revolvers require a rimmed cartridge for the empty rounds to be extracted, .380 is not rimmed. Thus the revolver must be loaded with a circular plastic clip in order to extract them. It can be unloaded with out the aid of a clip, but that involves removing each casing one at a time using a rod. Secondly, something typical of Taurus, they come with these rediculously large grips made out of toy grade plastic. Many owners remark that they usually buy new grips for theirs in something better.Regardless of its faults the Taurus 380 is a fine little revolver, one of the few Taurus pistols I will ever stamp my seal of approval on. -- source link
