kittyseb:So, rewatching this scene, something struck me: Bucky says “You’re Steve”, not “You’re Captain America”.If Bucky was truly going for “I read about you at the museum”, meaning “I don’t really KNOW you, I just know OF you.” he should’ve said “Captain America” because people who don’t care about Steve Rogers usually only see Captain America–the shield, the symbol, the hero. But no, Bucky specifically says “Steve”, so either he slipped up (maybe cuz he was conflicted) or a part of him wanted Steve to know that he remembered him. Otherwise, to really distance himself, pretend he doesn’t remember anything, shouldn’t he have said “Captain America”? Because the “museum” he’s talking about, the Smithsonian, it has a Captain America exhibit. -- source link
