Inktober Day #28 is Serena from Downtown, a highly underrated animated show that ran for only one season on MTV back in 1999. Serena is easily the best depiction of an animated Goth I have ever had the pleasure to seeing in this super underrated gem of an adult animated cartoon. It’s just so funny how much I really like this character even though she only appeared in 4 episodes of this one season, 13 episode show. She was just great. She had an awesome design, had a nice voice, and you can tell that the writers actually did a bit of research on the Goth subculture (the actual subculture) considering that she mentioned one of the most notable Goth bands of the 1990s (Dead Can Dance). I just have lots of respect for the writers for making such a wholesome, actual Goth character (in all honesty, the whole cast of the show was great) and it’s just unfortunate that the show didn’t get at least 1 or 2 more seasons.Anyway, it was an absolute delight getting around to drawing her and if you haven’t seen MTV’s Downtown, I highly recommend checking giving it a watch and you can find all 13 episodes on Youtube. :)—————————————————————————–Serena © MTV’s DowntownArtwork © Myself ~Ratchetjak -- source link
